I Go Green By Using Essential Oils and Vinegar in My Home.

I like a good smelling house

I purchase 100% essential oils from the health food store. My favorite oils are cinnamon, rose, eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, lemongrass, clove, lavender, orange and white camphor. I apply a drop here and there, in my vacuum, inside the couches and under the sinks....

I like using an essential oil warmer and adding several drops of orange, lavender, or lemongrass to name a few...

Vinegar may be sprayed on almost anything. It does have an unpleasant smell, but within a few hours it eliminates most unwelcome odors. Vinegar will destroy fungus too. I squirt it in the shower once the kids are done with their baths. When my kids spill milk on the carpet, I use the vinegar and on any bedtime accidents. Just add a few drops of essential oil to your spray bottle.

Use baking soda in the refrigerator to eliminate odor.

To fight off bad odor and fungus, I add a couple drops of tea tree oil to the bottom of my clothes hamper.

I think it is so handy to grow herbs in my kitchen and nothing beats the smell of fresh basil.

When I burn candles, I burn only beeswax and soy-based candles with cotton wicks, rather than petroleum-based paraffin.

I often use my crock pot; it is such an easy way to prepare my family's dinner and the smell is so comforting after a long day at work.

Cut up some oranges, add cloves and cinnamon then put all items in a mini crock pot

This is not the first time that I have heard of using vinegar to eliminate foul smells and fungus. I am definitely going to try using it in the bathroom and the laundry room. I am passing by from Blog Frog and leaving my footprints on your blog. I would love to add you to my followers.

Hello Lorie! Thanks for adding me as a friend on BlogFrog! I'm now following your blog and looking forward to reading more about you! I saw that you burn soy and beeswax candles. My husband and I have a home business with Mia Bella's Gourmet candles. They are 100% natural vegetable wax candles. They don't have any paraffin in them. They are also 100% cotton wicks. Vegetable Wax has all the same properties as soy but it holds the scent longer. I'm all about using all healthy and natural products in our home. Feel free to check out our candles here: www.healthyilluminations.com You can also enter for a chance to win a free one while your there. Looking forward to connecting with you!

Using essential oils is such a good idea! Most fake scent things end up really bothering me, so it might be interesting to try that instead!

I should also start using vinegar in my bathroom. I know that my parents would use it when their dog had an accident, but I didn't realize that it was so versatile.

Thanks for visiting my blog! :)
